Since 2021, the pilot project "Vasilkovy Krai" (Cornflower Region) has been implemented in the Vitebsk region.
The project's goal is the effective use of unique resources to enhance the tourist attractiveness of the Vitebsk region in domestic and foreign markets.
The project's idea is to promote the region's tourist opportunities. Using the mobile application "Vasilkovy Krai – Life," by scanning "Vasilkovy Guide" QR codes, a person can learn about an object and its history. Moreover, no internet is needed for scanning. The signs are also placed in locations accessible to people with disabilities.
The application also includes navigation through cities and district centers of the region, featuring routes, virtual tours, and audio guides to various popular places and attractions in the region.
Currently, 12 districts of the Vitebsk region are involved in the project, with 150 tourist sites featured.
The "Vasilkovy Krai" project creates conditions for the development of domestic tourism and the tourism infrastructure of the Vitebsk region, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the Republic of Belarus.
The target audience of the project includes individual tourists, active and interested local residents of various social and age groups, and organized tourist groups (inbound and domestic tourism).
