Peace Day at Miory School No. 3 named after Yegor Tomka

On September 21, Peace Day was celebrated at Miory School No. 3 named after Yegor Tomka. Every year, UN events dedicated to this occasion begin with a ceremony at the Bell of Peace, so bells became the symbol of our celebration.

Before classes began, students and teachers participated in the "My Wishes for Peace" campaign. Everyone expressed their wishes and rang a bell so that all good things would surely come true.

During breaks, participants of the UNESCO school club "Adradzhenne" offered to paint paper bells and write wishes for people all over the world. A beautiful heart model was created from them. Students and adults wished for no wars, illnesses, sadness, or unemployment, and for harmony, happiness, mutual understanding, respect, beauty, and smiles to prevail in the world, and for everyone to be healthy. During the long break, high school students took part in the "We Vote for Peace!" flash mob.

N. Grigor'eva, curator of the UNESCO club "Adradzhenne".

On September 21, 2015, a flash mob was held on Fallen Fighters Square on the International Day of Peace as part of the final event of the volunteer peacekeeping project "Zhuravlik," conducted jointly with the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and the State Educational Institution "Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth."

Children launched 55 balloons with attached paper cranes into the sky, thereby marking the beginning of the year of peace on the Vitebsk land, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Peace Fund (April 27, 1961 - the date of the fund's establishment).

On April 27, 2016, the country will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the start of the Belarusian Peace Fund's activities. Many events are dedicated to this occasion in our Miory region as well.
