"Together for Everyone": events within the framework of the Belarusian Red Cross month will be held from May 8 to June 1. 

In May, informational events of the Belarusian Red Cross under the motto "Together for Everyone" continue in Belarus. In all regions of the country, employees and volunteers will talk about the activities of the largest humanitarian organization in the country and teach first aid skills.

At meetings with work collectives, issues of providing assistance to those in need will be discussed.

Employees and volunteers of the Belarusian Red Cross will also talk about specific steps for leading a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention. Everyone who wishes has a unique opportunity to join the volunteer movement, which includes over 15,000 active people of different ages.

Such meetings during the month are an excellent practice when parties can listen and hear each other, understanding that in the matter of mutual assistance, help, and mercy, only the desire is important.

In December 2022, as part of the "Yolka Zhelaniy" (Christmas Tree of Wishes) campaign, participants of the "Silver Age" club, together with the district organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, collected and handed over New Year's gifts to children from the Disna Social Orphanage.

From August 1 to September 15, 2022, the "Let's Get Kids Ready for School" campaign was held in the Miory district. The district organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society took an active part in collecting stationery. Together with individual entrepreneur Alesya Vysotskaya, the collected stationery was handed over to the Disna Children's Social Orphanage.

In the day care department for elderly citizens and supported living, and the day care department for disabled individuals of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Miory District, the chairperson of the Miory District organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society conducted training sessions for center attendees on first aid for hypothermia, frostbite, burns, electric shock, and domestic injuries.

On May 23, 2022, district competitions of sanitary brigades were held in the Miory District. At the competitions, teams demonstrated their readiness to respond to emergency situations. All participants showed a decent level of training. The winning team was the Sanitary Brigade of the Linear Production Dispatch Station "Disna" of the unitary production enterprise "Zapad-Transnefteprodukt".

Vitebsk Region Rescue Squads Competed in Dolginovo

The rural tranquility in Dolginovo was completely disrupted when the regional competitions of rescue squads began. Teams from all corners of the Vitebsk region gathered.

Protect and support victims of trafficking

As part of the "Helping Hand" project, events are being organized in the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions to assist victims of trafficking and refugees: psychological support, referral to other organizations according to needs, development of an individual assistance program, mediation in providing free medical services, referral to lawyers, psychological counseling, provision of humanitarian aid, participation in Red Cross training, and more.

The S. family from Mior also found themselves in a difficult life situation. They are also included in the program to assist victims who worked abroad, in this case, in the Russian Federation. They received support exceeding 200 Belarusian rubles. Shoes, food, and other necessary items were purchased.

Operation "Belarus: Population Movement"

In the Miory region, in connection with the war in Ukraine, citizens from a neighboring country lived and are currently living. The district organization of the Red Cross Society provides immediate assistance to lonely elderly people, pensioners, people with severe disabilities, large and single-parent families, pregnant women and nursing mothers – those who have no sources of income and cannot return home in the coming months. Such care is manifested in the issuance of vouchers for food and industrial goods at the district level. The amount of monthly assistance corresponds to the minimum subsistence level established in Belarus. The number of vouchers depends on the number of family members: one per person. They are issued quarterly. Medical services and medicines are also paid for based on agreements signed by the Belarusian Red Cross directly with service providers and pharmacies, taking into account the individual needs of beneficiaries and upon presentation of a doctor's prescription. Awareness of vulnerable beneficiaries and the general public is raised through the Info Line "201". It operates on weekdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. During the operation, 1,200 calls were processed regarding the issuance of vouchers, beneficiary selection criteria, voucher mechanism for legal document processing, employment, and housing search.
