The Miory District Prosecutor's Office proposed additional measures to prevent cattle mortality

In fulfillment of the instructions of the Head of State, the Miory District Prosecutor's Office continues to carry out supervisory measures to prevent cases of cattle mortality.

In a number of agricultural enterprises checked by prosecutors, violations of animal keeping and feeding technology, as well as veterinary and sanitary rules, have been identified. These violations are due to the lack of control by the administrations of agricultural enterprises over the labor and performance discipline of subordinate employees.

During the supervisory activities, the district prosecutor's office identified numerous violations related to inadequate biological protection of livestock facilities, the sanitary condition and keeping conditions of animals, as well as the formal and negligent attitude of individual officials of agricultural organizations towards compliance with relevant norms and rules. These obvious violations have long remained unaddressed by both the heads of agricultural enterprises and the officials of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Miory District Executive Committee.

During the inspection activities, it was established that in most cases, the direct cause of cattle mortality is the violation of feeding and watering regimes, and the unclean condition of feeders and waterers.

Based on the results of the inspections, the Prosecutor of the Miory District, in the past period of 2025, submitted five proposals to the Miory District Executive Committee for the elimination of legislative violations in the livestock industry. These proposals were considered with the participation of the heads of agricultural organizations and the chief veterinarians of the district.

The heads of agricultural enterprises have been required to eliminate all identified violations and take measures to prevent them in the future.

The district prosecutor's office is carrying out work to establish the causes of mortality in cases where the employer has not properly investigated them, and the damage has been written off as enterprise losses.

When guilt is established in the actions of specialists and livestock breeders of enterprises and there are no measures to compensate for the damage, the district prosecutor's office takes measures to file lawsuits and send resolutions on bringing guilty persons to material liability.

The prosecutor's office of the Miory district will continue supervisory measures in the field of animal husbandry to ensure the safety of livestock.
