The prosecutor's office of the Miory district supported the state prosecution in a criminal case of property theft

        The prosecutor's office of the Miory district supported the state prosecution in court in the criminal case against a 29-year-old local resident accused of theft.

         The court hearing was held in an open format with the invitation of persons registered with the Miory District Department of Internal Affairs.

         It was established that in September 2024, while intoxicated, the accused entered the victim's residence. Taking advantage of the fact that the victim was also intoxicated and asleep, the accused stole cash in the amount of over two thousand rubles, which he disposed of as he saw fit.

         It is noteworthy that the victim initially, upon discovering the money missing, did not want to contact law enforcement agencies to find the perpetrator. The victim's ex-wife, who lives with him in the same apartment, filed a report with the District Department of Internal Affairs. During the proceedings, it was revealed that the victim had stolen jewelry belonging to his ex-wife during her absence. He had received money for these items from a pawn shop. He spent part of the money on alcoholic beverages and placed the remaining sum on a cabinet in the room. These funds were subsequently stolen by the accused.

         In court, the man pleaded guilty.

         Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the Miory District Court rendered a guilty verdict. Pursuant to Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to one year of imprisonment. In accordance with Part 1 of Article 77 of the Criminal Code, the execution of the imposed sentence is deferred for one year, with the obligation to perform 100 hours of socially useful work in his free time from work and/or studies.

         The court's verdict has entered into legal force.
