THE DISTRICT COURT CONSIDERED THE CRIMINAL CASE
The district prosecutor's office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a minor accused of vehicle theft.
On one of the days in December 2023, during nighttime, the minor gained unauthorized access to the cabin of a tractor belonging to one of the district's agricultural enterprises through an unlocked door. Using the ignition key left in the tractor, he drove it along the roads of nearby villages in the Miory district.
Several months later, the accused repeated his actions: on one of the days in August of the current year, this time using keys stored in a designated location, he entered the cabin of another tractor belonging to the same farm and drove it around the territory of the Miory district until the tractor ran out of fuel.
During the preliminary investigation and court proceedings, the accused fully admitted his guilt, repented for his actions, and compensated the enterprise for the cost of fuel consumed during the unauthorized trips.
Considering the sincere repentance, positive references from his place of study and residence, the court imposed a sentence of 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment, suspended, with a probationary period of one year. He was also obligated to perform 30 hours of community service during his free time from work and/or studies.
The court's sentence has entered into legal force.
