On omissions in the work of prevention entities in preventing human deaths from external causes
A coordination meeting on combating crime and corruption in the Miory district was held under the chairmanship of the prosecutor of the Miory district, Andrey Borisovich Vetyugov, where issues of the effectiveness of preventive entities in preventing deaths of citizens from external causes were considered.
The meeting was attended by members of the coordination meeting, deputy chairmen of the Miory District Executive Committee, and the head of the Department for Emergency Situations.
An analysis of the effectiveness of the measures taken to implement the regional comprehensive program for the prevention of offenses showed that through the joint efforts of all interested departments, it was possible to somewhat stabilize the crime situation in the district, reducing both the total number of registered crimes and crimes related to criminal investigation.
In the past period of 2024, intentional murders, rapes, extortion, and robberies were not committed in the district.
At the same time, many objective and subjective factors that negatively affect the state of the crime situation persist in the district, which necessitates the continuation of systematic work by all state bodies and public associations to prevent offenses within the framework of annually adopted comprehensive programs.
There are instances of procrastination and mismanagement in ensuring the operability and safety of agricultural machinery; a problematic issue is the release of agricultural machinery into operation without passing state technical inspection.
A number of shortcomings and omissions that negatively affect the effectiveness of the crime prevention system established in the district occur in the sphere of preventing offenses that contribute to emergencies and loss of life, as evidenced by the increase in fires, the increase in the number of registered road traffic accidents, a high level of suicides, and cases of industrial injuries. There is also a high level of mortality from alcohol poisoning or prolonged alcohol abuse.
Following the discussion, the participants of the coordination meeting adopted a number of specific decisions to improve the situation and identified responsible executors.
