The prosecutor's office of the Miory district demanded that the playgrounds and the play equipment on them be brought into a safe condition

The Prosecutor's Office of Miory District monitored the technical condition and safety of structures at children's playgrounds on the adjacent territories of apartment buildings in the town of Miory.

In particular, prosecutors checked the performance of their duties by officials of the unitary enterprise "Miory District Housing and Communal Services," which is responsible for the operation of the housing stock and the provision of housing and communal services, to maintain the serviced playgrounds and their equipment in proper technical and sanitary condition, as well as to ensure safe conditions for children at such facilities.

During the monitoring, instances were identified where playground equipment was found to be in improper condition, hindering its intended use.

For example, the swing attachment at one of the playgrounds on Lermontova Street was completely broken, the boards had cracks and chips, and the protective and decorative paint coating was missing.

In the courtyards of several houses on Kommunisticheskaya Street, seesaw swings were in improper condition due to the absence of individual structural elements, which could have led to children's injuries during their use.

For reference. According to subparagraph 13.8 of paragraph 13 of the Rules for the Use of Residential Premises and Maintenance of Residential and Auxiliary Premises, approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of May 21, 2013 No. 399, organizations responsible for the operation of the housing stock are obliged to maintain household, sports, and playground facilities under their service, as well as the equipment installed on them, in proper technical and sanitary condition.

Pursuant to clauses 5.2.2 and 5.2.6 of the State Standard of the Republic of Belarus STB 614-2007 "Children's Playground Equipment. General Technical Conditions," wooden parts of the equipment must not have rot, decay, cracks, or chips, and all equipment parts must have a protective and decorative paint coating.

Following the results of supervisory activities, the prosecutor of the Miory district issued an order to the operating organization, in which he demanded the immediate elimination of the identified violations, including carrying out the necessary repair work on children's play structures.

The fulfillment of the requirements of the supervision act has been taken under control.
