Cyberbullying and blackmail on the Internet (a guide for teenagers and children)

Creating a social media profile can lead to bullying and blackmail.

Rules for interacting with aggressors: Refrain from responding to provocative messages and comments. Block persistent provocateurs. Do not engage in private conversations with strangers.

Rules for interacting with blackmailers: If an attacker has obtained personal information or photos and is demanding money: Do not correspond with scammers. They are always waiting for those who will be scared and pay them; Do not pay money. There are no guarantees that scammers will fulfill their demands and not publish confidential information; Do not remain silent and tell your loved ones or parents about the blackmail; Do not try to solve the problem yourself. Save evidence of blackmail and contact law enforcement agencies.
