On October 31, a Unified Road Safety Day will be held in the Miory district under the slogan: "Yield to pedestrians!"

The event is aimed at preventing road traffic accidents at pedestrian crossings.

On this day, the State Automobile Inspectorate will pay special attention to intersections with unregulated pedestrian crossings, and will monitor the behavior of drivers there, whether they yield to pedestrians who have priority when crossing the roadway.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds you of some important points of the Traffic Regulations:

– pedestrians are given priority at regulated pedestrian crossings when the traffic controller or traffic light signal is permissive for both drivers and pedestrians simultaneously;

– when approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing, the driver must also yield to pedestrians.

For violating these points of the Traffic Regulations, a driver who commits a violation for the first time will receive a warning, and for the second time, a fine of one base value is provided.
