“Drunk and unlicensed drivers have no place on the road!”
The issue of drunk driving is always under close public scrutiny. However, practice shows that most citizens still prefer to turn a blind eye and distance themselves from solving this problem.
Few concerned individuals can stand in the way of a tipsy driver and thus prevent a potential tragedy on the road. We would like to remind disciplined drivers who respect the Traffic Rules and think about other drivers and pedestrians: if you are driving tomorrow, do not drink a single drop of alcohol today. Alcohol has a prolonged effect on the body for 24 hours. Studies confirm that the day after consuming alcohol, drivers' skills remain impaired due to some weakening of attention and concentration. Some believe that after drinking "a little" it is quite possible to drive, as everything is "under control." This is a misconception, as the largest number of accidents occur precisely in a state of mild intoxication. It is important to note that a person's performance decreases even with minimal doses of alcohol.
Since the beginning of 2024, State Automobile Inspectorate officers have documented over 6.7 thousand cases of driving vehicles by intoxicated drivers on the Republic's roads, of which more than 1.3 thousand cases involved such drivers being participants in road traffic accidents, which constitutes 20% of all documented cases.
In order to prevent offenses and accidents committed by drivers under the influence of alcohol, as well as those who do not have a driver's license, and to prevent incidents caused by them, as well as to ensure an adequate level of road traffic safety, from August 9 to August 12, 2024, State Automobile Inspectorate officers will be conducting a set of preventive measures "Drunk and unlicensed drivers have no place on the road!" on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Dear citizens! Show your civic stance, human compassion, and call the State Traffic Inspectorate at tel. 102 if you see a drunk driver getting behind the wheel of a car.
