Профилактическая акция «Мотоциклист!» проходит по всей республике с 27 апреля по 4 мая

The preventive campaign «Motorcyclist!» is taking place throughout the republic from April 27 to May 4

"Motorcyclist!". Under this title, from April 27 to May 4, the State Automobile Inspectorate is holding a republican preventive campaign with the aim of preventing road traffic accidents involving motor transport, promoting road safety in the operation of motor transport, fostering mutual respect among road users, and suppressing unlawful actions by motorcyclists.

April - early May is the period when the active movement of motorcycles, bikes, scooters, and mopeds begins. Unfortunately, it is also the time when the situation with road traffic injuries of "iron horse" owners worsens. During this period, traffic police inspectors pay increased attention to motor transport enthusiasts. Events are held among representatives of motorcycle communities, associations and clubs, in work collectives, educational institutions, and directly on the road. Drills in populated areas and on highways are planned, aimed at preventing and suppressing traffic violations by motorcycle enthusiasts using overt, covert, and mixed traffic control and taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of all road users. Traffic police inspectors also explain the procedure for obtaining a driver's license and registering motor vehicles, the need for technical inspection and compulsory civil liability insurance, and the rules of safe behavior on the road and liability for traffic violations. To avoid trouble on the road, first of all, you need to master driving skills in different situations and road conditions, and also be extremely attentive. Practice shows that any collision can have serious consequences for motorcycle enthusiasts. Sometimes, a momentary loss of vigilance leads to a tragic outcome, resulting in the biker losing control and an accident. And if the same circumstances end with a trip to the car service for a car driver, then a motorcyclist often ends up in the hospital.

To operate a motorcycle, scooter, or moped, it is mandatory to have a driver's license of the appropriate category: — category "A" – motorcycles; — subcategory "AM" – mopeds; — subcategory "A1" – motorcycles with an engine displacement not exceeding 125 cubic centimeters and a maximum power not exceeding 11 kilowatts (light motorcycles). The right to operate a mechanical vehicle of subcategory "AM" and subcategory "A1" can be obtained upon reaching the age of 16, but to obtain category "A", one must reach the age of 18.

Also, mandatory registration of your "iron horse" with the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) is required. Regarding the registration of motorcycles with the GAI, the state registration of vehicles, including motorcycles and mopeds, is carried out at the place of registration of the individual. The basis for this is an application of the established form, along with the provision of a set of documents: — passport or other identity document with a mark of residence registration; — manufacturer's document confirming the production of the vehicle, for new vehicles; — vehicle registration certificate (technical passport) with a mark from the registering authority about deregistration of the vehicle, for used vehicles; — documents confirming the legality of acquisition (receipt) of the vehicle; — document confirming the conclusion of an obligatory insurance contract for the vehicle owner's civil liability; — vehicle registration plates, for used vehicles; — documents confirming payment.

On administrative liability of individuals: For "unlicensed" driving, administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine from 5 to 20 basic units, and for a repeat offense within a year, the fine is from 20 to 50 basic units. For driving a motorcycle without a permit to participate in road traffic, the fine will be up to 5 basic units. It is necessary to ride a motorcycle with a fastened helmet and not to carry passengers without one, to move with the low beam headlights constantly on. Special equipment will not be superfluous for a motorcyclist, which in case of an accident will help to avoid injuries when falling. For ignoring the use of a helmet (with an unfastened helmet) by a motorcyclist or carrying passengers without helmets, a fine of up to 5 basic units is provided. Do not risk your life and health by performing dangerous stunts. They are fraught not only with consequences but also with penalties.

For driving a motorcycle or moped on one wheel, moving in a way that the person driving such a vehicle does not hold the handlebars or does not keep their feet on the pedals (footrests), a fine of 5 to 10 basic units is provided, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 6 months or without deprivation.
