On ensuring control over the sowing campaign of 2024

In the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the Vitebsk region, preparations for spring field work have begun. The state spends a lot of funds on its implementation. The well-being of not only our region but also the entire state depends on the results of the sowing campaign. However, many dishonest citizens want to improve their well-being by stealing state funds and material assets allocated for the sowing campaign. Often, when committing theft, citizens do not think about responsibility.

Thus, Article 11.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus (petty theft) provides for punishment in the form of a fine from 2 to 30 basic units, or community service, or administrative arrest. In addition, the court recovers the amount of material damage caused and the harm caused (damage to property, equipment, downtime of working time). That is, the amounts recovered by the court are many times higher than the profit obtained from the theft.

Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (theft), depending on the amount of damage caused, provides for imprisonment for up to 3 years, restriction of liberty for the same period, a fine, community service, arrest, correctional labor for up to two years.

Article 13.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus (Illegal circulation of petroleum liquid fuel in the Republic of Belarus) provides for punishment for the acquisition, storage, use, or sale by individuals of dyed petroleum liquid fuel supplied in the prescribed manner to organizations performing work related to the production of agricultural products, in the form of a fine from 10 to 50 basic units.

At the same time, internal affairs bodies, together with representatives of agricultural organizations and district executive committees, will organize mobile groups that will conduct raid activities in the evening and at night to prevent theft of agricultural products, material assets of agricultural organizations, fuel and lubricants, as well as to ensure compliance with labor discipline at workplaces.
