«Safe Summer – for Children!»
For the current period of 2023, 4 road traffic accidents involving child passengers have been registered in the Vitebsk region. In these accidents, 1 child died, and 6 minors were injured.
Given the developing negative trend in child road traffic injuries, on June 21, 2023, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Miory District will hold a set of preventive measures aimed at preventing road traffic accidents involving minors, promoting the use of child restraint systems and retroreflective elements in the dark, under the slogan "Safe Summer for Children!". Traffic police officers will conduct explanatory work in the work collectives of organizations and enterprises, as well as in educational institutions, including at parent-teacher meetings. Special attention will be paid to preventive work with drivers of private transport on compliance with traffic rules regarding the safe transportation of children.
Traffic rules are the same for children and adults. Unfortunately, they are written in adult language, without any consideration for children. Therefore, the main task of educators and parents is to explain the rules to the child in an accessible way, and when choosing a form of education, to convey to children the meaning and danger of non-compliance with the rules, without distorting their content.
Only through the joint efforts of educators and parents, using their knowledge, patience, and tact, is it possible to teach children the skills of safe interaction with the complex world of crossing streets and roads.
Children are always near us, they look at us, they imitate us. Recklessly speeding in cars, crossing the roadway on a red traffic light or in an unauthorized place, do not forget that your children are next to you, they are also road users, repeating and completely copying the dismissive and often dangerous attitude of adults towards observing traffic rules. It is adults who instill negative habits of violating the rules of safe behavior on the road – the basis for a possible future tragedy. All adults must firmly grasp the power of their own example!
To prevent your child from getting into trouble, patiently, daily, and unobtrusively instill in them respect for traffic rules.
