In accordance with the directive of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, preventive measures to prevent bicycle theft will be carried out in the Vitebsk region, including the Miory district.

The main reason for bicycle (electric scooter, hoverboard) theft is the negligent attitude of citizens towards the security of their property, which they leave unattended on their property, near places of mass public gathering.

To prevent bicycle theft, we recommend that you:

- do not leave your bicycle unattended on the stair landing, near the entrance or shop, near administrative buildings, as well as in basements;

- purchase an anti-theft device for your bicycle and use it when leaving your two-wheeled friend unattended;

- do not rely on intercoms installed in entrances; intruders can enter the entrance and steal your bicycle;

- do not let strangers into the entrance;

- assist children and the elderly in transporting bicycles to their safe storage location;

- if you notice suspicious individuals near your home, entrance, or shop who are interested in an unattended bicycle, immediately report it to the police.
