Preventive work on weekends

The heat in the region of Miory does not subside on weekends, which means that more people want to cool off by the water. To ensure that summer recreation by the water does not turn into a tragedy, employees of the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations conduct daily raids. On weekends, rescuers visited popular recreation spots: the city beach on the peninsula in the town of Miory and the beach on Lake Obsterno in the village of Peredrodse, and also carried out preventive work in the park of the town of Disna during the city festival.

One of the main goals of the preventive talks was children. Children often overestimate their abilities and do not realize all the hidden dangers of water bodies.

Rescuers told them real stories of tragedies and explained what fooling around in the water can lead to. Each child was given colorful leaflets about water safety rules so that the useful information would be remembered visually.

In parallel, the raid group also communicated with adult vacationers. Rescuers made a special request to parents: not to lose vigilance and not to leave children unattended for a moment, even if they are in inflatable rings or close to the shore.

Another point of preventive measures was an event in the central park of the town of Disna. An EMERCOM site was set up on the city square. It featured interactive games and quizzes for children. Those who took advantage of the excellent opportunity to attend the festival were able to spend an unforgettable time with their families. This allowed them not only to gain theoretical knowledge on safe leisure activities but also to practice them in a playful manner.

Similar events will be held throughout the summer season in crowded places to remind everyone: a moment of carelessness by the water can cost a life. Take care of yourself and your loved ones, and choose only tested and equipped beaches for recreation.
