How not to get lost in the forest: tips from rescuers
Every year, a large number of people get lost in the forests of Belarus. There is no typical profile of a lost person, as anyone can find themselves in this situation: pensioners, adults, teenagers, and even children. Fortunately, in most cases, everything ends well, but some situations can cause considerable anxiety and at times even lead to a loss of all hope for a favorable outcome.
Rescuers remind you: before heading into the forest, study the safety rules! Take a small supply of food, water, a knife, and matches with you. Don't forget a charged mobile phone and any necessary medications. Clothing and footwear for a forest trip should be durable and waterproof. Be sure to wear a bright element on your clothing (a scarf, cap, etc.) – this will help you not to go unnoticed, and those searching for you will not pass by bright clothing. Inform your relatives where you plan to enter the forest and approximately when you expect to return. Talk to your elderly parents again and make sure they know the safety rules.
