Safety measures for swimming

- refrain from swimming in unknown bodies of water not intended for this purpose, if there is no equipped beach nearby, choose a safe place to swim with a firm sandy bottom, free of debris, and a gradual slope.

- avoid swimming alone;

- do not enter the water while intoxicated, as alcohol blocks the vasoconstrictor and vasodilator centers of the brain.

- never jump into the water in places not specifically equipped for it: you may hit your head on the bottom, a rock, or another object, easily lose consciousness, injure yourself, and die.

- diving from bridges, piers, and wharves, and approaching passing boats, motorboats, and ships is not allowed.

- swimming on inflatable mattresses and car inner tubes is prohibited (especially if you cannot swim). They can be carried far from the shore by wind or current, swamped by waves, lose air, and lose buoyancy;

- do not engage in rough play in the water: do not dive under swimmers, grab them by the legs, "drown" them, give false distress signals, etc.;

- do not swim beyond the boundary markers, as they delineate an area with a checked bottom, a specific depth, guaranteed absence of whirlpools, etc. Do not swim far from the shore or swim across a body of water as a dare.

- do not leave children unattended near water
