Grass burning is a tradition that leads to sad consequences

Burning grass, garbage incineration, and careless handling of fire on household plots are the main causes of ecosystem fires in the spring. To prevent the burning of dry vegetation, rescuers in the district conduct daily monitoring of fire-hazardous areas and preventive work with the population.

Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations remind residents that every year with the onset of spring they face the problem of spring burning of dry grass and an increase in the number of fires caused by violations of fire safety rules during outdoor recreation, when lighting fires, and tidying up household territories.

– Lighting fires is permitted only in calm weather, at a safe distance from buildings and structures, while the process of burning and smoldering must be continuously monitored. The place where the fire will be lit should be dug around in advance and cleared of combustible substances and materials, as well as dry vegetation. You must have a container with water, sand, or a fire extinguisher with you. When leaving, the fire must be extinguished until smoldering completely stops, – explained the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and handed out thematic booklets.

And if there are those who burn dry grass for tidiness, there are also those who, out of ignorance or carelessness, leave unextinguished fires, throw away matches. Remember that burning dry grass is strictly prohibited. Violators face a fine of 10 to 30 basic units.

Parents! Explain to your children what burning dry grass can lead to. Only caution and common sense will help avoid accidents and tragic consequences.
