Forest fire

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds the public that if you witness a forest fire, you should take the following actions:

- call 101 or 112;

- if the source is small, try to extinguish it with branches, cover it with soil;

- leave the fire site, remembering to walk against the wind, if possible perpendicular to the direction of the fire;

- cover your nose and mouth with a cloth, preferably damp;

- try to get to a road, clearing, meadow, river bank, or field.

To prevent forest fires, you need to follow simple and important rules:

- do not throw burning matches, cigarette butts, smoldering rags;

- do not start a fire in dense thickets, young coniferous stands, under tree crowns;

- do not start a fire in windy weather and do not leave it unattended;

- do not leave self-igniting material in the forest: rags soaked in oil or gasoline, glass;

- do not burn dry grass in forest clearings, near forest areas
