The goal is safe housing
With the continuation of the information campaign among the population about the effectiveness of using autonomous fire alarms, rescuers of the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations have organized and are conducting events to visit the housing stock of lonely, single elderly citizens and disabled individuals. Joint raids on individuals prone to alcohol abuse have been organized together with healthcare workers and representatives of the district internal affairs department.
EMERCOM employees are once again explaining to citizens the necessity of installing autonomous fire alarms, drawing attention to their timely maintenance.
- To check the operability of the autonomous fire alarm, press the test button located next to the indicator light, or the indicator light itself. In older models, to check, insert a rod into the center of the device and wait for a signal, - explained the rescuer.
The population was also informed about the importance of the correct operation of heating stoves.
- A stove is the heart of the home, and its condition reflects the attitude of the household members towards their own well-being, - says Gennady Borisevich, inspector of the supervision and prevention sector. - An installed hearth mat, the absence of cracks in the masonry, a plastered and whitewashed stove chimney are not just words, but rules tested by time.
Based on the results of the events held to inspect citizens' households, a series of information reports have been prepared for prevention entities, as well as letters to the able-bodied relatives of elderly citizens.
