For knowledge – to the security center
Rescuers are constantly conducting a set of preventive training events for the younger generation. One of the popular forms of work is classes at the safety center, where rescuers visually and interactively show and tell children about observing safety rules and how to behave if trouble occurs.
Communication with people of a courageous profession always evokes genuine interest and a bright surge of emotions in children. Thus, the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations, together with the Department of Education, organized the transportation of children from families recognized as being in a socially dangerous situation, as well as families whose children do not attend preschool educational institutions, to the Safety Center in Novopolotsk. Many of the children were there for the first time and were very interested in listening to everything, actively discussing problematic issues, and, of course, taking photos as souvenirs.
Children and their parents were shown in practice the dangers that exist in the home: an object of increased danger requiring attention – a stove – an uncleaned chimney, cracks, firebox doors that do not close tightly, the floor not protected with non-combustible materials in front of the firebox – all this can lead to a fire.
– A large number of electrical appliances plugged into one outlet, food left unattended on the stove – this is also very dangerous! – the children identified violations.
Together with the center's staff, the children were able to review the algorithms for correct and safe behavior on the water in the summer and winter periods, and the dangers that may await them when going into forest areas.
After the training, schoolchildren were invited to undergo a final assessment on the topics studied and share their impressions of visiting the safety center.
At the end of the events, all children were presented with memorable bookmarks and stickers with safety "reminders" from rescuers as souvenirs.
