Summer patrol on guard of safety in Miory

In hot weather, people are drawn to bodies of water. Cool water is a salvation from the heat, but it is not always safe for human life. The statistics of OSVOD rescuers this year confirm this: dozens of people have not returned home since the beginning of the swimming season, and what is even more upsetting is that children are among them.

To prevent tragedies, rescuers from the Miory District Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with employees of the internal affairs department, an OSVOD employee, a correspondent for the district newspaper, and a representative of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM), conducted a joint raid on the city beach of Miory. Despite the fact that swimming is allowed here, specialists strongly recommended not to swim beyond the buoys and to enter the water gradually to avoid a sharp temperature drop.

– The main task is to convey simple but vitally important rules to people, – emphasizes the Ministry of Emergency Situations employee. – Many forget that even in an authorized swimming area, one should not lose vigilance.

Specialists paid special attention to those who came to the reservoir with small children.

– Remember, a child must always be within your sight, – rescuers appealed to parents. – Don't forget to put life jackets, rings, armbands, and other auxiliary swimming aids on your little ones.

At the end of the conversation, rescuers handed out brochures with useful information to the vacationers.
