Safety measures for swimming

- refrain from swimming in unknown bodies of water not intended for this purpose, if there is no equipped beach nearby, choose a safe place for swimming with a firm sandy bottom, free of debris, and a gradual slope.

- avoid swimming alone;

- do not enter the water while intoxicated, as alcohol blocks the vasoconstrictor and vasodilator centers of the brain.

- never jump into the water in places not specifically equipped for it: you may hit your head on the bottom, a rock, or another object, easily lose consciousness, injure yourself, and die.

- it is not allowed to dive from bridges, piers, wharves, or swim close to passing boats, motorboats, and vessels.

- it is forbidden to swim on inflatable mattresses or car inner tubes (especially if you cannot swim). Wind or current can carry them very far from the shore, and waves can swamp them, air can escape from them, and they can lose buoyancy;

- do not engage in rough horseplay in the water: ducking under swimmers, grabbing their legs, "drowning" them, giving false distress signals, etc.;

- do not swim beyond the boundary markers, as they delineate an area with a checked bottom, a specific depth, and guarantee the absence of whirlpools, etc. Do not swim far from the shore or swim across a body of water as a dare.

- do not leave children unattended by the water
