A practical training on the organization of evacuation measures was held in the Miory district

Employees of the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations, together with staff from the Vitebsk Regional Department, checked the readiness of reception points for temporarily evacuated population based at educational institutions in the district.

The purpose of such drills is to check readiness for natural and man-made emergencies, as well as for actions during wartime; to verify measures for preparing reception points for the accommodation of temporarily evacuated population; and to practice practical actions by the administrations of educational institutions. For this purpose, reception and accommodation groups, an information desk, a mother and child room, a medical station, a public order protection group, and a psychologist's room were deployed.

The drills included practical exercises of key elements: notification and assembly of the administration, procedures for equipping the reception points, and the performance of duties by the heads of educational institutions.

– We demonstrated and practiced the action algorithm for the administrations of the facilities, paying special attention to compliance with the requirements for preparing premises for the reception, accommodation, and life support of the temporarily evacuated population, – explained Andrey Zhukov, Senior Engineer of the Organizational Support Department of the State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

As part of the demonstration drill, a meeting of the evacuation commission of the Miory District Executive Committee was held, chaired by Deputy Chairman Alexander Zhuk.

– The exercises help to improve the level of training of local authorities in organizing evacuation measures. Based on the results of the drill, the coordinated work of all structures was noted, and recommendations were given to improve their provision and functioning during a special period, – emphasized Alexander Ivanovich.
