Burning dry grass is a direct path to fire!

The "hot" season has begun for rescuers. Those who like to clear dry grass with fire forget that this can lead to irreparable consequences. Thus, since the beginning of the year, in the Miory district, the Ministry of Emergency Situations workers have responded to 14 dry vegetation fires.

In order to remind villagers of safety rules during the fire hazard period, rescuers of the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations are conducting raid activities together with employees of the Dishna Forestry and a correspondent of the district newspaper in the territory of the district, with the aim of identifying cases of mismanagement and unsatisfactory maintenance of the territories of settlements, and plowing of forest and peat massifs.

"Currently, our region and other regions are experiencing extreme fire danger - the highest risk. This is a period when the probability of fires reaches the highest level. Dry weather, positive air temperature, low humidity are conditions that contribute to the rapid spread of fire," explained a rescuer.

An employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations explained in detail how dry grass ignites from a match thrown for "fun," how fire spreads to forest areas and can reach threatening proportions, how often houses and outbuildings catch fire from burning grass, and sometimes people die. He gave examples of similar situations that occurred in the district and region. Then he reminded that burning dry vegetation is strictly prohibited. To reinforce this, he handed out a memo with useful information.
