A drunk smoker is dangerous

Careless handling of fire is the most common cause of death in fires. A person smoking in bed has a minimal chance of survival. It is no secret that a large part of the population in our country smokes, thereby risking not only their health but also their homes daily due to an unextinguished cigarette butt. Such seemingly harmless actions as "took out - smoked - threw away" can ultimately lead to the tragic chain of "drank - lit up - fell asleep". Having caused smoldering, the cigarette butt itself goes out after some time, and the smoldering source it created turns into ignition.

How to smoke safely? (at least to preserve life):

- if you cannot quit this harmful habit on your own, do not throw cigarette butts on the floor and do not smoke in bed;

- cigarette butts should be placed in a non-combustible "container" (metal or ceramic can) filled with water;

- forget the habit of throwing cigarette butts from balconies and loggias;

- to avoid becoming a victim of a thrown cigarette butt yourself, close balconies and loggias whenever possible, and do not store flammable and combustible materials on balconies;

- install a stand-alone fire alarm in your home. In case of fire, it will sound an alarm, thereby providing a chance for salvation.
