Rescuers honored the memory of the liberator soldiers

As part of the solemn events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, rescuers from the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations, together with a representative of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, took part in laying flowers at the monument to the liberator soldiers on Fallen Fighters Square.

Officers and personnel of the department arrived to pay tribute. The rally was opened by Alexander Gmyrak, who recalled the invaluable contribution of our Belarusian people to the victory over the German invaders. He spoke about the importance of remembering and honoring the memory of the fallen Soviet soldiers, and also noted that we must first and foremost be patriots of our country and always stand guard over security.

Rachitskaya Ekaterina, a representative of the Miory Historical Museum, spoke about the combat operations on the territory of the district center, about the ruthless executions of Jewish citizens and civilians, and about how terrible the war years were for our citizens.

The participants of the flower-laying ceremony honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the foot of the monument.
