Be there for your child – a motto for parents!
In seven months of 2024, fire claimed the lives of 6 children.
The tragedy occurred in the village of Korobchino, Mstislavsky district. On the evening of January 16, the mother went to work, and her partner, a young son, and a 10-year-old daughter remained at home.
At 21:42, a distressed neighbor called rescuers – a girl ran to her for help and said that the house where her little brother remained was on fire. Rescuers promptly arrived at the scene: the house was burning inside, and dense smoke had formed. The boy was found on the floor in one of the rooms, and the mother's partner was in the adjacent room. Resuscitation efforts were futile – both died. During the evacuation from the burning house, the girl also sustained burns to 20% of her body; she was hospitalized.
Neighbors describe the family as satisfactory, noting that the man smoked and drank. He had consumed alcohol the day before the incident.
The fire damaged the ceiling, property, and interior finishing in the kitchen, and the walls and ceiling in the house were smoked. The cause of the fire is being determined.
Another tragic incident involving the death of a child occurred in Mstislavl.
On May 12, at 03:55, neighbors reported a fire in a residential building on Engels Street to rescuers. Upon arrival at the scene, the arriving EMERCOM units saw that the house was completely engulfed in flames and dense smoke inside. Before the rescuers arrived, the homeowner's cousin managed to escape the burning house on his own; according to him, four more people remained inside. During the reconnaissance conducted by EMERCOM employees, the homeowner and his wife were found and handed over to medics; ambulance personnel confirmed their deaths. Later, the bodies of the homeowner's sister and her 14-year-old daughter were discovered under the house debris.
As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, and property in the house were destroyed. The cause of the fire is being determined.
Tragedy in the Brest region. Four young children died in a fire in the village of Yastrebeli, Berezovsky district. The eldest was only six years old, and the youngest was two months old.
The fire occurred in a private residential house. Only the 37-year-old mother and her four-year-old daughter managed to escape. Two calls a few minutes apart: first, an eyewitness called the 101 line, followed by the mother. By a cruel twist of fate, there was a strong wind that day. The flames from the veranda spread to the roof in a fraction of a second. The wooden house went up in flames like a match.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) employees promptly arrived at the scene. Fire raged in the house. Inside, rescuers found the bodies of four deceased children aged from 2 months to 6 years. According to fellow villagers, the family is characterized as prosperous.
The fire destroyed the roof, ceiling, and property in the house; the walls were damaged. The cause of the fire is being determined.
And the most terrible thing is that four young lives were added to the horrific fire statistics.
