DEATH OF CHILDREN IN WATER BODIES
We once again emphasize that the most important thing parents should remember is that children should not be near water unsupervised. This is a rule that all adults must strictly follow. Unfortunately, young children left unsupervised by adults often drown in water.
On July 17, at 14:20, rescuers were informed about belongings left on the shore of a lake in the village of Kamenka, Mogilev district. It turned out that the mother of an 8-year-old boy saw her child's friend wet
and became concerned about her son's whereabouts, as the children were constantly playing together. The neighbor's child was frightened and could not tell the woman anything. Then, the worried mother and grandfather went to search for the boy near a local body of water, but the child was not there. The neighbor's boy told the relatives about the belongings found on the shore of another body of water. The grandfather rushed into the water and began to dive, but his attempts to find his grandson were unsuccessful. The man called rescuers. Divers recovered the lifeless body of the boy from the water. He was handed over to an ambulance crew. After resuscitation efforts, medics confirmed his death. It was established that the boy and his friend had gone to the water on their own initiative.
On July 22, at 11:30, the duty officer of the police informed Lida rescuers that a 3-year-old boy had gone missing in a garden community near the village of Dorzhi. Ministry of Emergency Situations workers immediately went to assist in the search. The tragedy occurred when the mother, with three young children, arrived at the dacha. While she was busy with household chores, the children were playing in the yard. At some point, the woman discovered that one child was missing, and the gate to the street was open. The woman rushed to search for the toddler. Not finding her son nearby, she called the district police department. Police officers searched the territory of the garden community, and rescuers deployed a quadcopter. While surveying the shoreline of the Ditva River, which flows 15 meters from the dacha plot, at a distance of about 2 km from the dacha house, police officers of the Lida District Department of Internal Affairs found the boy's body near the bank. Rescuers recovered him from the water, and ambulance doctors confirmed his death.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of July 28 in the city of Slavgorod. The 112 service received a call from residents of the district center reporting that a child had drowned on Strel'tsov Street in a lake (kopan), which was not equipped or intended for swimming. Emergency Ministry employees who arrived at the scene pulled the body of an 8-year-old girl from the reservoir. Medics performed resuscitation measures, but were unable to save the girl, and her death was recorded. As clarified by the Investigative Committee, a group of minors was swimming in the reservoir without adult supervision. The drowned girl's house was on a neighboring street. When the child drowned, her friends told their parents, who then called the emergency service.
On August 20, a 5-year-old girl drowned in a technical pond in the Nesvizh district. The tragedy occurred in the village of Alba. According to preliminary information, the girl was visiting her grandmother. During the day, the woman noticed the child's absence and began to look for her. Local residents found children's shoes on the bank of the reservoir in the village, and a few minutes later – the toddler in the water. An eyewitness pulled the girl's body from the reservoir. She could not be saved.
Not only large bodies of water, but also decorative ponds, and even containers with water, pose a danger, especially to a small child. Only parents who are aware of the possible dangers and take them seriously, no matter how rare and unlikely they may seem, can protect their child from misfortune. When you are with children near water, you cannot lose vigilance for a minute.
The tragedy occurred on the afternoon of June 25 in a private household in the Minsk region. On this day, a large family was busy with construction. At some point, the one-and-a-half-year-old girl disappeared from the adults' sight. The parents began to search for the toddler as soon as they noticed her absence. They found her body in a frame pool equipped with a ladder. It is assumed that the child could have climbed the ladder. Medical workers who arrived at the scene pronounced the girl dead.
Important! Do not lose sight of children playing near water bodies. It is best if a child plays on the water with adults. Only in this way can you be completely sure of their safety. If you are not participating in the games, make sure the child remains within your sight.
