Raid groups in the Miory district inspected bathing sites for citizens

In hot weather, people are drawn to bodies of water. Cool water is a salvation from the heat, but it is not always safe for human life. The statistics of OSVOD rescuers this year confirm this: dozens of people have not returned home since the beginning of the swimming season, and what is even more upsetting is that children are among them.

Moreover, bodies of water for swimming are most often chosen based on territorial proximity: the closer to home, the better. However, not all bodies of water are intended for swimming. And plunging into cool water in an unequipped place is again fraught with consequences. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the district internal affairs department, OSVOD, and representatives of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) set out to remind about swimming rules and warn about responsibility for swimming in places not equipped for this purpose on the reservoirs of the Miory district.

On another body of water, a family of three was found. And again, the place is popular, but not intended for these purposes. In a conversation with the head of the family, he surprised everyone:

- Four people have drowned in this place in various years in my memory, says the man. The logical question arises: "Have tragic cases not become a lesson?". To this, the man replied calmly: "I don't swim here with my family. I just go waist-deep into the water, wipe myself with cool water, and go back to the shore." An instructive conversation was held with the whole family, and they were especially asked not to leave children unattended and to teach them safe behavior rules from childhood.

In total, the district's raid groups managed to inspect about three unauthorized swimming spots, as well as equipped swimming areas, and more than two dozen people were warned about safe swimming measures. Raid activities in the district will continue throughout the entire swimming season.
