Thin ice does not forgive mistakes!
Miory rescuers, together with OSVOD employees and the editorial office of the district newspaper "Miorskiye Novosti," conducted a preventive raid on the lake of the district center. Communicating with winter fishing enthusiasts, rescuers held preventive talks, familiarized them with the rules of conduct on the ice, reminded them how to determine if the ice is strong, if it has a safe thickness, about the necessity of wearing a life jacket when going out on the ice, as well as the procedure in case of a dangerous situation and methods of rescue from water. They spoke about tragic incidents on water bodies in the Vitebsk region.
They were reminded that during positive temperatures, ice melts quickly and going out on it becomes dangerous. You can go out on the ice when the ice thickness exceeds 7 centimeters, and the ice looks crystalline and has a bluish tint. Dark spots indicate weak ice. The greatest danger is on rivers.
During the raid, each fisherman was warned about observing the rules of conduct on the ice, and also left with booklets with useful information as a souvenir.
In case you need rescuers' assistance, call 101 or 112 immediately.
