Citizen safety is under control

With the start of the new year, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees of Miory district have intensified their preventive measures and are actively inspecting the households of categorized citizens as part of inspection commissions. The focus is on the safety of households and the citizens residing in them. Among the categories of citizens covered by preventive work are single elderly citizens and families raising young children.

It is no secret that stoves are one of the main sources of fires in winter. This is, of course, due to the fact that it is during the winter period that people intensively use heating appliances to maintain a comfortable temperature inside their homes. And often, the appliances used by our citizens, to put it mildly, do not meet the required safety standards. In this regard, attention is focused on the safe operation of stove heating inside houses, in bathhouses, and outbuildings: the condition of chimneys, including in hard-to-reach places (attics, mansard floors), the presence of essential stove components, compliance with safety requirements during the heating process, and so on. All visited citizens have been instructed on observing safety rules during stove operation.

No less serious a problem is the operation of faulty household electrical appliances and wiring. Not only does this pose a risk of electric shock, but it is also another cause of fires. During preventive work, citizens' attention was also focused on this.

In families raising children, parents were reminded that leaving young children unattended is strictly forbidden. This can be dangerous, first and foremost, for the child. Adults were also urged to teach children safety rules from a very early age.
