Learn safety rules – live a safe life
It is no secret that following safety rules will help save lives, health, and property. Everyone knows this, but not everyone always follows it. Why is it so important to adhere to safety rules and what can cause a fire – this and more was discussed by employees of the district emergency department in the Miory district with large families as part of the "Safety in Every Home" campaign.
And there are plenty of reasons for fires. In the age of technology, there are plenty of sources in every home. Both electrical appliances, which our homes are literally stuffed with, and stove heating, which is more common in rural areas, and matches in unskilled children's hands, and an unextinguished cigarette butt in the hands of a drunk person. And one must be able to foresee danger in order to prevent it. Take matches away from a little brother's hands, which are by no means children's toys, unplug an electrical appliance after use – safety in our homes is in our own hands. It is only important to follow the rules, not neglecting them for the sake of temporary pleasure or a desire to show off to friends.
During the event, the benefits of an autonomous fire detector and its difference from a school alarm were discussed. The emergency service number and safe evacuation rules were recalled. Together, they thought about what everyday items could be useful for extinguishing a nascent fire, briefly touched upon fire safety rules, answered rescuers' questions, and learned new safety rules themselves. Thanks to the methodological materials, the children not only heard about many things but also saw them "live".
The reasons for fires were discussed in more detail, and how to avoid them was recalled. The children themselves correctly identified the main causes: careless handling of fire, violations in the operation of stove heating and electrical equipment, and children's pranks with fire.
At the end of the event, children received visual safety materials as gifts.
