Who is the master of the house? Me or the cigarette?

Rescuers of Miory district, during the "Don't Burn Your Life Out" campaign, reminded employees of the agricultural and food department, as well as employees of the Miory Land Reclamation Systems Enterprise, about observing fire safety rules when smoking.

The event aimed to remind the public about such a dangerous habit as smoking in bed. It is no secret that most people who died in fires abused this habit. Employees of the department were told about the sad statistics of smokers, as well as the dangers of smoking, were given informative leaflets, and were also invited to participate in contests aimed at combating smoking in bed.

Other causes of fires were also recalled, such as violations in the operation of stove heating, violations when using electrical appliances, and children's mischief with fire. Evacuation rules and rules for using primary fire extinguishing means were remembered. The event was interesting and informative, and everyone present learned useful information for themselves.

A cigarette is a rather serious source of fire. An unextinguished cigarette butt falling on combustible materials can smolder for a long time, after which it can develop into a fire. And the smoke emitted during smoldering is extremely poisonous: a few breaths are enough for a person to die.

Rescuers appeal to citizens: if you are a smoker, do not smoke in bed, especially when intoxicated. Try to smoke in the safest places for this: special smoking areas equipped with non-combustible ashtrays. And a residential building should generally be a smoke-free zone. Think about the people who live next to you, because they also have to breathe cigarette smoke. Take care of yourself, because life is given to be enjoyed, not to be ruined by a bad habit.
