Grass was burning in the area

The Miory District Department for Emergency Situations informs that since the beginning of 2023, 4 cases of dry vegetation fires have occurred in the Miory District.

On June 7, at 13:30, the operational duty unit of the Miory District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a dry vegetation fire covering an area of 1.8 hectares near the village of Voytkovo, Novopogostsky village council. The cause of the fire is being established; there are no casualties.

Rescuers once again remind about the unconditional observance of fire safety measures. In accordance with Article 16.40 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses, liability is provided for burning dry vegetation, grass in its root, as well as stubble and post-harvest residues in fields, or for failure to take measures to extinguish fires – a fine from 10 to 30 basic units.
