Water safety
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds you to observe the basic rules of behavior on the water:
- when going to a body of water, tell adults where you are going, do not go swimming alone;
- swimming is allowed only in designated areas;
- do not swim far from the shore on inflatable watercraft, do not use homemade devices;
- do not cling to boats, approach passing vessels, swim beyond buoys;
- do not throw glass, bottles, or trash into the water;
- do not play games in the water that involve grabbing;
- do not give false alarm cries;
- do not play where you can fall into the water;
- if you find yourself in a strong current, swim diagonally, gradually approaching the shore;
- if you get caught in a whirlpool, take a deep breath, dive, and try to sharply turn to the side;
- if you get a muscle cramp, lie on your back and swim to the shore, trying to rub the cramped muscles.
