Caution, flood!
Local authorities, in conjunction with relevant services, conduct daily monitoring of the Western Dvina River water level.
Miory rescuers, together with the Disna City Executive Committee, carried out a door-to-door survey of citizens in the zone of potential flooding. Preventive discussions were held with residents on safety rules during the flood.
In case of deterioration of the flooding situation, places for temporary resettlement of citizens have been identified. Employees of the territorial center for social services of the Miory district work with elderly citizens daily.
In order to provide assistance to the population affected by flooding, interaction has been organized with the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society.
As a result of the rise in the river water level, a total of 9 farmsteads and 22 outbuildings have been flooded.
Monitoring of the hydrological situation is carried out daily to minimize possible consequences.
As of April 6, the water level in the Western Dvina River is 950 cm; over the past day, the water level has risen by 5 cm.
Owners of buildings in the flood zone are advised to observe safety rules during the flood.
