Ice Fishing Safety

PROHIBITED:

Going out on the ice during its formation and active melting.

Going out on the ice when its thickness is less than 7 centimeters.

Being on the ice while intoxicated.

MANDATORY:

Wear a life jacket.

Take self-rescue equipment with you: ice picks (alpenstocks) and a rescue line (rope).

Check the ice with an ice chisel or a sturdy stick, not with your foot.

Before going out on the ice, inspect the shore and plan a safe route.
