Responsibility for picking lilacs

It is common knowledge that cut lilac flowers do not last long. However, there are people who break off lilac branches with flowers for the fleeting satisfaction of their desire. Bouquets, at best, last 2-3 days and are then thrown away with other waste. At the same time, the shrub is already harmed: the damaged ends of its branches have lost their natural protection and are now more susceptible to pests, as well as adverse weather conditions. In addition, the bush loses its aesthetic appearance. If lilac inflorescences are regularly broken off, it will wither and eventually die. Often, broken branches cause the shrub's flowering to be incomplete the following year.

We remind you that breaking off lilacs within populated areas (in parks, squares, courtyards, boulevards, etc.) carries administrative liability. The fine for individuals is 30 base units, or 1,350 rubles.

Cut branches are not worth the money spent or the harm caused to nature. Protect nature and do not harm it for the sake of momentary pleasure!
