On April 26, 1986, the world was shaken by terrible news – the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

This day divided history into "before" and "after," becoming a symbol of a man-made disaster and the greatest courage.

Today, a memorial hour "Chernobyl - 40 Years" was held at the Miory Central District Library. The event was attended by liquidators of the Chernobyl NPP accident, representatives of the district authorities, and specialists from the Miory District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and the district sanitary service.

Special attention was paid to the feat of the liquidators, people who, sparing no effort, fought against an invisible enemy – radiation, saving the lives and health of millions of people.
