About bird nests

The Miory District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds that from February 16 to August 14, the destruction of bird nests is prohibited. Violation of the prohibition entails liability provided for by the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses and other legislative acts.

Thus, according to Article 16.23 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses, illegal destruction of bird nests provides for the imposition of fines:
on an individual – up to thirty basic units;
on an individual entrepreneur – from ten to one hundred basic units;
on a legal entity – from twenty to five hundred basic units.

In accordance with Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Wildlife", during the period from August 15 to February 15, it is permitted to regulate the spread and numbers of birds that cause harm to natural environmental components, as well as worsen the sanitary and aesthetic condition of settlements, residential, industrial, cultural and household, and other buildings and structures, or cause disturbance to residents of settlements, by destroying their nests located on plantings in settlements, residential, industrial, cultural and household, and other buildings and structures.
