About Sosnowsky's hogweed

     In accordance with the district measures for improving the land and landscaping of settlements for 2023, as well as the typical plan of measures for regulating the spread and number of invasive plant species in the Miory district for 2023, measures were planned to regulate the spread and number of Sosnowsky hogweed in the district's lands (293 locations) over an area of 280.195 hectares.

       In March of the current year, the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Miory District Executive Committee concluded an agreement with OOO "Khimkontakt" for the chemical treatment of Sosnowsky hogweed growth sites in the Miory district. The work began in May and is nearing completion.

     Measures to combat invasive plant species have been carried out on 246 hectares of the district's land as of May 25, 2023.

      In April and May, informational letters were sent twice to all 32 landowners in the district where Sosnowsky hogweed grows, informing them about the implementation of measures to combat Sosnowsky hogweed in accordance with TКП 17.05-03-2020 (33140) "Environmental Protection and Nature Management. Flora. Requirements for measures to limit the spread and number of invasive plants (Sosnowsky hogweed, Canadian goldenrod, woolly cupgrass, and other invasive plants) by various methods" and daily informing the inspectorate about the scope of work performed, indicating the locations of invasive plant species, areas, and methods of work.

      During May, all landowners will be issued orders to eliminate violations regarding the regulation of the spread and number of Sosnowsky hogweed based on the results of technical measures, and from June 1, administrative measures will be applied to violators of environmental legislation.
