Vitebsk Region deputies meet in Gorodok: focus on sports, tourism and quality of life
A social state is the Belarusian model of well-being. This is the leitmotif of the seminar for the deputies' corps of the Vitebsk Region.
The large-scale event was held in the Gorodok District. Participants included the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, Member of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development Gleb Lapitsky, Head of the District Executive Committee Irina Polyakova, as well as deputies and heads of relevant services and agencies from various parts of the Vitebsk Region.
— One of the key responsibilities of the authorities at any level is to create favorable living conditions for citizens, regardless of their place of residence. Seminars for the deputies' corps represent an important and timely initiative that will enable us to conduct a more detailed analysis of the implementation of state policy across various sectors and discuss pressing issues of socio-economic development, — noted Dmitry Demidov. — This working format facilitates the exchange of experience and the development of measures aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the population.
During the seminar, the deputies focused on the prospects for developing sports and tourism, sanatorium and resort treatment, and medical tourism. The attendees also laid flowers at the "Bessmertie" Memorial Complex in Gorodok, toured the facilities of the "Losvido" Tourist and Health Resort Complex, visited the "Gorodok House of Crafts and Folklore" branch, the roller-skiing track in Vorobyovy Gory, and the Physical Culture and Recreation Complex of the Regional Center for Olympic Reserve Training in Winter Sports.
