The treatment of private and state-owned enterprises should be the same. This requirement was voiced by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on February 28 at a meeting on the new price regulation system, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The Head of State said that before the meeting, he was handed a large package of documents, but it was unclear from them what exactly the government was submitting for his consideration, its interim or final proposal.

"I practically interrogated Snopkov on this issue every day. Golovchenko reminded me that this is your main exam. People are watching us, they support us. We all rejoiced enthusiastically that we were voted for in the last elections. The people believed. And what are we doing?" the President asked rhetorically. "I repeat once again: a government appointment is made - it's time to leave. They sit and invent some formula, and everyone has their own opinion in their head. The President set the task and drew a track from which you cannot deviate: we have a dictatorship. And the people support this dictatorship. Do it."
"There should be no rigid regulatory methods so as not to harm the economy. We should not excessively restrain the prices of producers. There should be normal profitability. Reduce costs," Alexander Lukashenko outlined the guidelines.
He stressed that enterprises should not include their expenses, such as the purchase of new cars, in the cost of production, in other words, shift them onto buyers. "As if it were only cars. And everyone comes, crying. If they can't work - let them not work. Put everyone on equal terms: the country comes first," the President emphasized.
The head of state also spoke about the proposals coming from private businesses: "Let's squeeze, let's put pressure on state-owned enterprises, and let private ones work based on supply and demand. Yesterday they were shouting: put us on equal terms, state-owned and private enterprises. Today they say: no, here let us have complete freedom, there should be no regulations, and squeeze the state-owned ones. So what do private businesses want? The attitude towards private and state-owned enterprises should be the same - tough, in the interests of the people," Alexander Lukashenko demanded.
