Miory Regional Executive Committee
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will take part in the grand opening of a new section of the third line of the Minsk Metro. These are the stations "Aerodromnaya", "Nemorshanski Sad", "Slutski Gostinets", BELTA reports. The Head of State will be informed about the development prospects of the Minsk Metro. Alexander Lukashenko will communicate with the employees of the capital's subway and inspect the new stations. Construction of the section of the third line of the Minsk Metro from "Aerodromnaya" station to "Slutski Gostinets" station, with a length of 4.08 km, began in August 2017. About 90% of the equipment and materials used in the construction are of Belarusian production.
The completion of this section of the third line will provide high-speed transport links to other city districts for the Kursovshchina residential area, as well as the "Minsk-Mir" district. At the same time, a transport triangle will be created in the city center with vertices at the transfer hubs at the "Oktyabrskaya" - "Kupalovskaya", "Ploshchad Lenina" - "Vokzalnaya", and "Frunzenskaya" - "Yubileynaya Ploshchad" stations, and the passenger load on the existing transfer hub between the second and third lines will decrease. The third metro line features technological solutions of a new technical level, high automation of engineering equipment management and control processes, implemented intelligent systems for train traffic management, fare payment, fire safety, and new means of transmitting and processing data on the operation of all metro systems. To ensure passenger safety, platform barrier fences (automatic station doors) are installed at the stations.
Traditionally, the stations have featured different interior designs. For example, at "Slutskoye Gostintsa," the interior concept is a set of historical metaphors and quotes presented in ultra-modern forms and colors. One of the famous historical legacies associated with Slutsk is rightfully considered to be the Slutsk belts. Some patterns used in fabric products, in a simplified, stylized form, are reflected in the station's interior. The main artistic idea of the "Nemorshansky Sad" station's interior, as the name suggests, is the image of a garden. The image of modern life and culture is influenced by environmental concerns. Despite the fact that the station space is not connected to the external environment, the task was to achieve the feeling of being in a garden under the tree crowns through figurative solutions, to create an emotional connection with the external space.
In turn, at the "Aerodromnaya" station, the theme of flight is associatively present. The main interior element of the platform area is the soaring square luminaires against the background of an aluminum suspended ceiling with a mirror surface, located in the central part of the platform area vault.
The General Plan of Minsk includes a section on the development of transport infrastructure, which includes a scheme for the development of rail-based urban passenger transport. The scheme provides for 4 lines of the Minsk Metro, one of which is radial-ring. The total length of the third line will be 16 km. The line will connect the southern and northern sectors of Minsk with the central part of the city.
It is planned that the fourth metro line will be over 25 km long and will intersect with the other three lines. The route of the line will duplicate the second city ring road. The construction of the fourth line will finally solve the issue of unloading the transfer hub between the first and second lines, and implement the concept of creating transport hubs between all types of urban and suburban transport.
