Head of State Alexander Lukashenko at a reception on behalf of the President of Belarus on the Old New Year noted that the quality of life is connected not only with the economy and production, but primarily depends on the people themselves, BelTA reports.

The President recalled that throughout the past 2023, Belarus moved towards peace through creation, strengthening unity, values and foundations of the Belarusian state. The current year has been declared the Year of Quality in Belarus. "I want you to understand: quality is not only about the economy and production. Probably, it is primarily, it is important. But it is primarily about the person," the head of state emphasized. "What is the essence? If every person, a Belarusian, our guest, our neighbors, friends, live this year together with us and remember it as the Year of Quality - then it worked out. Therefore, we need to do everything to ensure that quality permeates every person," Alexander Lukashenko explained. The President stressed that Belarus knows how to do everything for people's lives, but sometimes there is a lack of quality: "We know how to do, we know how to live, but we need to do it with quality."

This is especially important on the information front, where journalists and experts have to work in almost combat conditions, the head of state stressed. "We do not yet have (although we often talk about it) an information war. Not yet. We need to do everything to prevent it," said Alexander Lukashenko. "But there is a fierce confrontation. It always and everywhere begins with internal confusion, and this is accompanied by information confrontation, and then by information warfare. I would not want this process to continue in this vein. We need to stop it."

Addressing journalists, the President emphasized: "Be very careful and cautious. Remember: we are walking on thin ice. Words are very important today, and they must hit the mark, in a specific direction, but they must be very careful and cautious. And you cannot overdo it. Words and facts are our main weapon in the fight for spirituality, traditional values, and genuine meanings." Alexander Lukashenko wished everyone that 2024 would be generous with bright, memorable, kind events, fulfill the most cherished dreams, and become a happy time for new ideas and new achievements. "I am absolutely convinced that we will cope with all problems and tasks with dignity. After all, for true patriots, who are creating the present and future of our Belarus with deeds and thoughts, the fate of the Fatherland is the most important and most valuable thing," the head of state stated.

The President wished the participants of the reception that this meeting would leave warm and joyful impressions in their memory.
