The greater the number of personal achievements, the stronger our Belarus becomes. The importance of this was highlighted by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on September 12 during the award ceremony of state awards, reports a BELTA correspondent.
"Today, on the eve of the Day of National Unity celebrations, we honor hardworking individuals dedicated to their homeland, - emphasized the Head of State. - You have arrived from different parts of Belarus, and each of you followed your own path to success, but today these paths have converged into a single course. Our course. It has opened before you the doors of the symbol of our independence – the Palace of Independence, and led you to well-deserved awards."
In the President’s view, this event carries a certain symbolism. "Working in the most diverse fields and setting various goals for ourselves, we achieve outstanding results that ultimately become a shared success, the success of our entire country, - continued Alexander Lukashenko. - And the greater the number of personal achievements, the stronger our Belarus becomes."
"Each of you embodies the finest national traits of Belarusians. This is diligence, which manifests in the desire to develop one's abilities, to constantly learn and grow professionally, - emphasized the President. - This is patriotism, which we see in the aspiration to serve the Fatherland and the readiness to defend it at any moment. By cultivating crops, educating and raising children, assisting those facing hardships, and saving lives, you demonstrate the responsibility, compassion, and humanity of the Belarusian people – its defining characteristics. Your creative works reflect the beauty and harmony of our culture. Scientific breakthroughs showcase intellectual strength, while sporting triumphs reveal the spiritual fortitude of our nation."
The Head of State also remarked: "Your life experience constitutes vivid pages of our common history. The history of sovereign, independent Belarus."
"I wish to express my gratitude to you, and through you to all Belarusians who dedicate a part of their souls to their cherished endeavors, to people, and to their native land," - noted the President.
The Head of State presented the Order of Labour Glory to Professor Nikolai Prokopchuk of the Department of Polymer Composite Materials at the Belarusian State Technological University and to Director Sergey Efremenko of the Production Unitary Enterprise "Tsvetlit" of the Belarusian Society of the Deaf, and the Order of Honour to Locksmith-Electrician Alexander Podobed of JSC "Management Company of the Belkommunmash Holding".
Andrey Gurinovich, Head of the Medical Detachment (Special Purpose) of the State Institution "432nd Red Star Order Main Military Clinical Medical Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus", and Pavel Kharchenko, Head of the 14th Border Detachment of the Border Guard Service, were awarded the Order "For Service to the Motherland" 3rd class.
Nikita Dedin, a police officer-driver of the Luninets Department of the Guard Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was awarded the Medal "For Saved Life".
During the ceremony, the President also presented lapel badges: Honoured Transport Worker to Vladimir Puchko, Director of the Baranovichi Bus Park; Honoured Border Guard to Igor Butkevich, First Deputy Chairman of the State Border Committee; Honoured Artist to Igor Khlebus, Head of the Military Band Service of the Armed Forces and Head of the State Institution "Honoured Collective of the Republic of Belarus "Model Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus"; and Accompanist for the Vocal Class Yulia Shcherbakova of the Opera Troupe of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
Anton Smolski, sports instructor of the national biathlon team at the Republican Centre for Olympic Training in Winter Sports "Raubichi", was awarded the title of Honoured Master of Sport; Valentin Zankovich, artist-sculptor, was awarded the title of Honoured Art Worker of Belarus; and Grigory Medvedev, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy named after the October Revolution and the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, was awarded the title of Honoured Science Worker of Belarus.
The title of Honored Worker of Education was awarded to Lyudmila Nekhorosheva, Head of the Department of Economics of Industrial Enterprises at the Belarusian State University of Economy, and Vitaly Vorobyov, Vice Rector for International Relations and Extra-budgetary Activities at the Grodno State Medical University; the title of Honored Worker of Industry to Sergey Avakov, General Director of JSC “Planar”; the title of Honored Worker of the Service Sector to Lyudmila Kulinchik, Director of JSC “Vesta-Borisov”; the title of Honored Worker of Agriculture to Petr Kashchelyan, General Director of the Grodno Breeding Farm, Alexey Mikulich, Director of the Communal Unitary Enterprise “Mankovichi” of the Stolin District, and Ivan Olizarovich, Deputy Director of the Grodno Regional Agro-Industrial Union.
