The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is visiting JSC "Mogilev Elevator Machinery Plant", BELTA reports.

The President will be briefed on the current operations and development prospects of the enterprise, and samples of the produced products will be demonstrated. The discussion will also cover the overall socio-economic development of the Mogilev region and the city of Mogilev.

The last time the head of state visited this enterprise was on July 22, 2016, during a working trip to the Mogilev region. At that time, he noted that enterprises such as "Mogilevliftmash" need to be actively developed. "My main concern is that people are employed, but with one condition: if they want to work. For those willing to work, I am ready to do everything so that they find their workplace. And there are plenty of such workplaces and conditions for creating them today," the head of state said.

In July 2020, the President approved the appointment of a new general director of "Mogilevliftmash". Sergey Chertkov assumed the post, having previously served as deputy general director for commercial affairs. It is worth noting that Alexander Lukashenko was well acquainted with the father of the current general director, Valery Chertkov, who once headed the Mogilev Transport Machinery Plant ("Mogilevtransmash") and served as president of the Mogilev Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. "He was a worthy person. A true Belarusian. I sincerely hope that your work will also succeed," Alexander Lukashenko told the new leader three years ago.

Overall, the enterprise is well-known, and its products are in high demand. They are frequently mentioned, including at meetings between the head of state and leaders of Russian regions. For example, in April of this year, during negotiations with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, the head of state mentioned the implementation of a program to upgrade elevator equipment in Russia's northern capital and assured that "Mogilevliftmash" would meet the requirements, even despite the heavy workload and number of orders from other elevator equipment buyers.

Currently, the production program of JSC "Mogilevliftmash" includes approximately 180 basic elevator models: passenger, freight, hospital, and cottage elevators of varying load capacities. In addition to elevators, the company manufactures lifts for persons with limited mobility, escalators and moving walkways, construction hoists, brush chippers (mulchers), as well as consumer goods.

As reported by BELTA on April 30 of this year, citing General Director Sergei Chertkov, three investment projects are currently being implemented at Mogilevliftmash.

"All key indicators outlined in the business plan have been met for the first quarter. Last year, the export growth rate reached 150%, and by the end of the first quarter of 2023 it exceeded 120%. I can state that we look confidently toward the future," Sergei Chertkov emphasized.

One of the investment projects is venture-based and is being implemented with the support of the Belarusian Investment Fund. A new modern production facility for traction electric motors used in trolleybuses and electric buses is being established. The primary consumers are MAZ and BKM Holding. Prototype water-cooled electric motors for MAZ have already been manufactured.

A new major project for 2024–2026 is being prepared concerning the modernization and establishment of elevator production based on gearless drive technology. The enterprise management is confident that this initiative also holds significant prospects and a promising future.
