On February 23, official rallies were held in the city of Miory dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
At the Square of Memory of Fallen Fighters, representatives of labor collectives and law enforcement agencies, public associations, and school students from the city of Miory gathered for a solemn rally dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland.
Event participants laid flowers and wreaths at the foot of a mass grave and the "Black Tulip" memorial obelisk, as well as at a memorial sign honoring the warrior-liberators of Miory from German-fascist invaders.
In accordance with established tradition, students and working youth paid tribute at the memorial sign dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Yegor Andreyevich Tomko, honoring the renowned fellow townsman.
